I am new here. When I first started my character the other day I could see her and all she had on. But now when I log on to her or any other character they are all black and missing thier faces. You only see two dots for eyes. I even had my friend log in with my character and she says she is ok. I tried logging in with HER character and it is all black. I have tried every setting on the viewer I can find and even those under the advanced tab! I have also tried uninstalling the viewer and reinstalling it. Still does not work. here are my system stats:
Windows vista 64 bit
AMD Turion X2 Dual-core mobile RM-74 2.20 GHz
4 gig mem
Ati Radeon HD 3200 Graphics
I have made no changes to my system since I first started the account. So not sure why I can not see her. I take her clothes off and skins off and it still makes no difference. I can not see her clothes or skins. I can not see her body. She is just all black.

Try going into and then out of Appearance (right click on AV, pie menu). I have the fun most days that I take on the surrounding textures when I log on. Part of the joys of SL.

When I go to Apperance and look at the detail all I see are pale blue boxes with nothing in them....when I edit the detail of my body the body is all white! LOL This is truly frustrating! I would love to be able to play.

Ok damnit! This is getting stupid. I even downloaded the snowglobe viewer and it worked the first two times I logged in with my char. but now I log in with her again...same char....have not even rebooted my system and she is all black. I thought I had cleared it up by downloading Snowglobe and using that becasue I could see her. i was even playing around with her outfits and looks. Now she is all black and has no face only a set of black eyes floating under her dark purple hair...where it should be bright purple! I know it is not my graphics card now because it was working with snowglobe viewer last night. but now I get up this morning and log in without having rebooted my system she is all black. Can ANYONE please help me with this?

Ok figured it out...SL does not like me running dual monitors! It makes my Avatar all black. So I figured out a work around. Unplug the second monitor....log into SL then plug it back in again! And she is still fully featured! LOL

You might find it makes a difference which monitor SL is started on.

Also, you might find that the ATI dual monitor software would help in some fashion. To investigate that you could go to http://ati.amd.com/products/hydravision/faq.html

I use dual monitors with an ATI card without this sort of problem. Your system is much more modern than mine, so that doesn't mean much.
