New (older spec) PC can't view video?

Wondering what's up here.

I've just put together a new PC based on lower spec (than my main PC) parts, but still not bad.......

Pentium 4 2.8Ghz
2GB PC3200 RAM
SB Audigy 2 zs sound card
Nvidea 6800GT graphics.
300GB ATA133 hard drive.

Still pretty OK specs I think you'd agree.

But I can't get streaming video to show on my in-game TV

If I log onto my main PC the video plays fine.

I'm connected on the same network as my main PC and both are wired into the same 20megabit cable connection to the net

I've installed SL twice on this PC (making sure XP's firewall is not blocking anything)

But a blank TV screen.

Audio (radio) plays fine. but no video.

Any ideas?

I've set all the obvious things in preferences to auto play streaming media and cof course clicked the little play button next to the camera icon, but nothing plays.

The screen on my TV blanks for a second when I change video channel/stream, but then goes back to the parcels default media texture rather than play the video

But (as I said) on the other PC it's playing fine.

I'm stumped......

Do you have the latest version of Quicktime installed on your new machine? I've had a similar problem, once, and it was cured by updating QT.

Ahhh, I don't think I have ANY version of quicktime installed on my machine

There was nothing to say I needed to.

Ok, installed latest Quicktime player from Apple and all working now.

Dear Linden Labs, it might help if you actually tell people at the end of install that you will need to install quicktime to view in-world media :)

that would be just as easy as including a built in streaming system (like they did with radio), but LL is too busy making dumb decisions to forever haunt them
