Morning,
I crashed last night not a big deal. When trying to log in this morning, the crash report runs,,i send a blurb...the client goes off tp detect hardware... and the system never starts.
Ok tries it several more times.. reboot system.. NADA
Remove software and reinstall nothing again.
I can see that several friends are online..so i assume login server is wonky.
Anyone?

It hangs at Preparing Inventory or Connecting to Region or somesuch, right? That's what many others are getting. LL will have it worked out. Especially since they're patching in an hour or so.
Now, if SL simply isn't opening up to the login screen, that's an entirely different problem. Is -that- what's happening?

I also had this problem this morning.
I deleted cache files and set it to start up at home on next login. Voila.

Anthea, was the build you downloaded and installed one you downloaded this morning?
If so, please wait till the patching is complete (read the Annoucements forum) before downloading it again and reinstalling. You may have gotten a bad build they had up on the site while they go through trying to patch the grid.

It is same version as I was running last night when i crashed..put it is a sep folder to download and compare.. not sure what the probleem is.it is same flipping ver.. kill me now..
off with their heads!!

yeah..
fixed it.. uninstalled and tested both the yesterday patch and this mornings patch.. yesterdays worked..
this morning's patch (aka5:49) no go..which hopefullly will work by the time they repatch the servers.
If not.. anyone wanna buy a patch ~ evil Smirk~

Still can't run game

Last night I DLed the new version. On login it locked up at inventory the first time, then after reboot, it would crash immediately after logging in. Also, when I did log in, my camera view was tight to the back of the char's head, and most controls would not function (for the 5 or 10 seconds before it would crash completely).
I got the patch today, and the results with version 1.5.1 are exactly the same.
