Hello and good day to you all
Have been having some problems running secondlife here as of late. I click the shortcut and load the game and it goes threw the loading it will sometimes actually show me my avitar and then go to not responding. Funny thing is if i log in a couple times it normaly will work fine and sometimes go to not responding at diffrent variables of times while playing. Another thing is when i first installed SL i got a pop up window stating that my hardware isnt enough to support secondlife. Which it is more than enough as i will list it bellow
Intel Core Quad 2.6ghz asus p5q premium motherboard Evga 250Gts graphics card 2gig corsair Memory running windows xp media center wired internet
I have tried running the diffrent clients to no prevail also have updated all my drivers. Reinstalled SL, rest modem and router..uninstalled virus and firewall software have also talked to my ISP which they report everything is fine from thier end. I can run other programs on my computer with no problems at all
Just tryin to find if i missed anything or if anyone has had the same problem and they found a fix for it. I have played sl for a good 4 years never had a problem like this.
Thanks for any anticpated help Masimo Visconti

When you updated your drivers did you first uninstall the old ones? That's an important step for any driver update but especially so for video drivers. A lot of people do not do that and many get away with it.........for a time (eventually, it will catch up with you). Several people will recommend using a driver cleaner for a complete removal of all traces of the driver sometimes left over from the uninstall process. I've never used one of those programs myself..........and have no issues with any driver I've ever updated (since the one time I did not uninstall first and had major issues............a geek friend clued me in on it all ). Regardless, at least uninstall all older drivers before installing any new ones. Which, of course, means you cannot (and should not) run from the website.......always save to your hard drive. One other thing. You stated you have an nVidia GTS250 card. That's a very new card just out by nVidia in the last couple months. You also said you've been in SL for 4 years without problems.......that implies to me that you were running SL on that computer for 4 years. What I'm getting at is it appears that your card is newly installed in your machine. The card may not be properly seated in it's slot.......maybe check that. And that card has a minimum power supply requirement of at least 400 watts.........most off the shelf computers don't come with power supplies rated that high. An underpowered computer can display a lot of problems.......check your power supply. And sometimes the most recent driver is not the one that will work best. If the newest does not work, try going to the "archive/beta" link and look for a driver version one to two revisions back..........I've had to do that a couple times. Your ISP is never going to tell you they are having problems.......just not in their nature. Try going here: http://www.speedtest.net/and here: http://www.speakeasy.net/speedtest/Run a couple tests on each site......at least one each to San Francisco and Dallas at each site. You need at least 750 kbps download speed to run SL satisfactorily. Your speed to the closest server should be at least 3/4 or your ISP's advertised speed....if it's not call them back and find out why. Hope something helps.

Think i have the issue resolved. Belive the problem came from windows firewall and or the virus software that i was using. I uninstalled the virus software i was using and bought a new one installed and it shut windows firewall off and it has been working since with no freeze ups or anything.
