1.3 NEVER, **NEVER** crashed for me.

With the "new and improved" 1.4, I am crashing to desktop EVERY 4-5 MINUTES!!

All my drivers are up to date, even my motherboard BIOS. I have 2GB of RAM and a cable connection, a 3GHz computer and a recent ATI card with 128MB of RAM.

I would LOVE to send in my crash logs, but the crash logger completely locks up my system, forcing me to do a HARD REBOOT every five minutes, which is starting to piss me off. It's not good for Windows to have to be hard-rebooted every five minutes.

At least you get in to crash. I cant even do that. I have reinstalled the client to see if that would help. When I try to log in my hardware is checked, then I hang up on the loading of the client. Then it takes apx 6-7 tries to close the program newview.exe that is not responding.

I never had any problems before. If anyone has any ideas as to what I should do please post. I would appreciate it.

Delete your cache folder... A re-install might not clear it, unless you un-install it first.

On Macs, you HAVE to clear it manually out of your ~/Library/Application Support/Second Life folder.

I was getting lockup's and freezing last night but when I closed my filesharing app everything went fine. It seems dropped packets, especially during TP's makes the client get really confused.

As always, clear the cache and close other apps! Any application that uses any bandwidth at all could kill you. Hell, if you computer isn't very fast overall, any app could kill you. So shutdown your HotSync manager, close out Trillian, nix Kazaa, and then give it a try. I won't deny that 1.4 has more bugs, but with a level head and a bit of ingenuity you can fix it on your end before LL fixes it on theirs.

Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, EVER run a file sharing app at the same time time you run SL. If you do you automatically forfeit all rights to complain about lag, packetloss, crashes, ghosting, failed teleports, or pretty much anything.

File sharing apps are mostly designed to eat as much bandwith as they can. So is SL. They do not play nice together.
