Hiyas.. I just got a Laptop but I can't get SL to work properly.
It runs slowly and I'm not sure why.

System Specs:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Series Processor (1795 MHz)
Memory: 2039 MB
OS Version: Microsoft Windows XP Service Pack 3 (Build 2600)
Graphics Card Vendor: Intel
Graphics Card: Intel 965/963 Graphics Media Accelerator
OpenGL Version: 1.5.0 - Build 6.14.10.4837

Any way to make it run properly?

Probably not, but you can try

Go to the advanced menu (Ctrl Alt d) goto rendering > Types > and grab the tippy top of the menu so that you can tear it off. With that open, uncheck all that you can tolerate having off. Clouds, particles, water, grass, ground, tree and if you can stand it 'sky' as well. This will leave you with downloading the avatars and prims and the surface patch. It will speed your frame rate too. In Preferences, set your render distance to 64 meters.

That's why.

In addition to what Zen suggested, enable advanced options (CRTL-ALT-D), go to "Rendering" and check "Run multiple threads".

Intel video controllers are crap. If you really want to run SL well, the only solution is to get a better computer.

I agree,i bought a computer with an intel graphics card before i joined sl,it barely ran sl,in the end i went out and bought a better one with more memory and a nvidia graphic card
Now sl runs perfect
