I open the game (SL) and it stays in an unresponsive state as soon as it opens up. it wont even go to the log in screen, i cant click on it because it wont do anything, and i cant read what it shows in the screen when its unresponsive because its in a tiny window on the top left corner of my screen.

If you can show us a screen shot that might help to figure out what is going on.

You could try doing a Windows System Restore if you are using Windows.

You might try uninstalling and reinstalling SL.

If you tell us more information such as how much ram you have, what kind of processor, how fast, the model of video card, what version of operating system, what version of SL, and so on, that might help figure out what's happening.

When you uninstalled SL did you do a search on your computer and manually delete any file that is SL related? SL, even though uninstalled, does not delete some files on your computer..........the preferrence settings are one of those files, I believe. The best way to install any program you download is to save it to your hard drive and install from there (not any auto installers the website might offer).

Since SL will not even launch I'm sure the problem lays in your system. Maybe is some configuration you have in Windows itself. And it looks like you are running Vista with the Aero features. You might try turning that off and see if it helps.

What graphics card are you using?

You have no restore points? Do you have that turned off? Not a good idea in my opinion.

Go to nVidia's web site and check for the latest drivers for that card. I doubt your immediate problem is that but you do need good, current drivers to run SL once you get SL to lauch..........just trying to head off another postential problem before it gets started. :)

Win cleaner or CCleaner won't do it. You need to search for them. Just pull up the search in Windows and type in "Second Life"............and after you find those files do it again and type "SL". Make sure anything you delete is Second Life ralated........I have no idea what your files are so it's possilbe some other file may come up in the search and not be what you are trying to find.
