I just want to mention something I noticed yesterday, and ask if anyone else has noticed it.
I bought a new outfit yesterday. On my high-end computer which has a geforce fx 5900 ultra, the pant cuffs had no flare to them whatsoever, even though the slider for the flare setting was at 75-ish.
I logged on with my laptop, which has a geforce 4 go, and the pant cuffs were flared to the extreme.
The video drivers are up to date on both of these machines.
Is there a known issue where pants (and maybe shirt sleeves?) flaring does not display properly on some chipsets? I know my good computer at least *used to* display flared cuffs...

In your preferences, what are your settings for: Display -> Avatar Rendering Options -> Avatar Vertex Program

I played with avatar rendering detail on both machines. They didn't seem to make any difference to pants display.
I believe the vertex program is enabled on the faster machine and not available on the slower one, but I can check this for sure when I get home from work later today.
Edit: doh, missed a question

It seems that when you have "Avatar Rendering" set to "Bump Mapped & Cloth", pant cuffs are sacrificed for cloth-like movement. With the setting at just "Bump Mapped", pant cuffs look like normal and can be pretty large, but when I turn it on, the cuffs shrink considerably.

Yep, you're right Casval. The difference is in the "cloth" option for avatar rendering. When it's on, flared cuffs are no longer flared.

EUREKA! That explains the high-water pants I've been wearing recently ever since I dropped my new FX5900XT in. And lemme tell you, high-water leather britches simply do not scream, 'I am sexx0r! Worship me!'
*makes mental note to fix that pdq*
Thanks, folks!
