I am having issues with the new Video Capturing feature. I login, go to the debug menu, select the Stop Start Video Capture choice, and I get a dialog to choose the name of the file and the location it saves. I click ok, and then NOTHING HAPPENS. No more dialogs. I try to selec the item from the debug menu again, and still, nada.
Anyone else?

I downloaded all of the codecs in that link that was in the readme and I had the same problem... until I changed the save folder to somewhere else besides the default. Works now.

Just curious, what is the default folder for you? Also, what Video Card do you have, and what drivers? Thanks for the reply!

I played with it and successfully managed to capture video... My problem is whenever I turned, the top of the screen was not in synch with bottom, so the top of buildings all looked like they were shifted over.... This occurred with a whole slew of codec....

Ah, thanks Mark. My folder is the same, except for the different user name, of course. I tried what you said and changed the folder, didn't help. I am going to reinstall just for the heck of it.

That didn't work. I got it to work on my desktop, but, my Laptop runs SL so much better, so, I really want to do it on my laptop. I have come to the conclusion that my laptop is unable to run whatever code is needed to bring up the dialog for the Codecs. Lindens, PLEASE please reply!

Its working!!!!!!! I got very angry at my laptop, so, I bashed my fists into the keyboard a few times. Next, I changed the file name to BlahBlah.avi. I saved to my C Drive. It worked.

Ah, perhaps this isnt working right with certain computers because of Windows XP's 'security feature' that doesnt allow other programs to write to the documents and settings folders directly...

James Miller, I'm glad you got it working!
As a stealth feature in the debug menus video capture in SL is not officially supported yet. It was thrown in at the last minute before the most recent patch but we thought we would make it available for the adventurous users.
Remember "beta"? Consider video capture a fresh "beta" feature (for those of you who want to stay on our bleeding edge) that is not necessary to enjoy the rest of the game.

Well, I got it working, but, when I play video's I created with it, the graphics on my computer go hay wire. Everything on the lower half of the screen start to shift around and get very funky. It makes playing SL impossible. I know you cant help me, Andrew, but, maybe another nice user can?

I think I solved that one too! I can't play the video's with SL open.
Now my next problem...when I record, no matter what codec I use, it seems to record at 2x speed. How do I slow this down?
