People flying at incredible heights

For the last few weeks I have been noticing people entering my sim at incredible heights. Several times a day someone will TP into the sim from between 200,000 meters up and and 9 million meters up. Always a different person, always a different height.
Sometimes they only remain a few minutes, sometimes for up to 45 minutes.
Considering my home and my business are in this sim, this concerns me.

I've tried asking several of these people if they are experiencing some difficulty, if a landmark or something dropped them off at the wrong spot. Either I get no answer at all, or they get rude and call me a liar. Sometimes I fly up to the height they are at, and sure enough there they are. And I've verified the heights using different sim scanners and other gadgets, even got my landlord to detect one once using their land tools.

Is there some hack or griefing thing going around using such heights? Or perhaps an issue with teleports dropping people off at odd places?

This really has me flustered.

How do you know where someone has tp'd from when they arrive in your sim? And further, how do you know what height they tp'd from?

I've flown to 80,000 meters using my freebie flight feather..........so I can believe people being at the heights you mentioned (though 9 million seems a little far fetched....but I suppose it's possible). I've also been orbed while playing around with those pillows that you bash people with (all in fun) and wound up at some pretty fantastic heights. If I let myself fall all the way down I suppose it could appear as though I tp'd from whatever height it was that I fell from.

I don't know..........doesn't seem like griefing to me. Seems more likely a few people who live or hang out close to your location are having fun seeing who can go the highest or orb someone the furthest. People do play silly games...........I know I do. :)

I don't think Red is saying they know where the people teleport from.

I think Red is saying they arrive on his land up high, at an altitude in the range from 200,000 meters to 9 million meters.

Isn't the present build limit 4096? I haven't heard of any increase in that limit since it was increased a couple years ago (or was that a year ago?).

If they arrrive at that height they will fall down to whatever he has built (or they can flew down if they don't want to fall....though falling is faster)........and that would be at 4096 max.

You can fly at any height with the assist of scripted tools.

You can also teleport to any height, most people don't know how to, but you can. These people simply chose to teleport to that height and hover there. Nothing sketchy is going on.

o_O That must have taken a while.

I was the first avatar to get over 2 billion meters. It took about three or four seconds, using a script I wrote using llPushObject back before they nerfed it.

They might set the altitude on the map, then tp in from the map. Maybe they just like falling out of the sky from a high distance. Not much to see up there really.

It was usually the other way around at my house. After a good cleaning the ferrets would try and drag the cats under the couch. Now one cat used to love to sit on a stool and bonk them on the head when the would walk under it. They all loved each other in their special way.

Yeah it did take a while...........like about 4 hours, with breaks. :) I was shooting for 100 K but got tired. You know your finger gets a cramp in it when you hold down the page up key for that long.

They don't mention the stolen shuttle, too embarrassing.

Was it stolen or hijacked? and if it was hijacked (which I'm thinking it was) I'm pretty sure it was at gunpoint? or no?

Ferrets don't hold people up at gunpoint. You're thinking of badgers. We... uh, they didn't need no steenking badgers.

They could be getting the height observed by doing this:

That is because ferrets are sneeky. They were porbably hiding inside of the tortoise shell. You need to have owned one to get my drift. They can find places in your home that you didn't know existed.

Yeah if the OP can see the person's screen who tp'd in..........but that would only happen with remote access. Which means the OP would be in cahoots with the people his suspicious of.

I don't think there's any way for any one other than the person who has tp'd in to know where the tp originated (well the LL servers would know, therefore LL might know but anyone else would not). That was my question. My secondary question is if this mall is at 200,000 meters (or even 9 million meters) then how did it get built at that hieght? As far as I know the built height limit is at 4096 meters.......you can fudge that by a few meters I know but not by nearly 200,000 meters.
