SL VOICE CHAT AND SKYPE Blocked !!

hi all..
although i enabled voice chat in second life but still i cant hear or talk to anyone.. Skype is blocked where i live, can this be the reason? are they both using the same port for voice communication and since skype is blocked then maybe voice in second life is blocked as well for me?..

How skype really works in detail has not been made known to the public so far. Skype uses a proprietary protocol and is "Closed-source", so do integrated applications. What can be said so far is, that Skype normally always finds "a way out". Even in firewalled companies a single workstation where Skype could be installed, finds connection, never mind if this workstation is behind proxies and/or in a cascaded subnet.

So, if Skype won't find connections, it's a wonder that you can access this forum cos normally everything else won't find connection either. Sorry for not giving any better or more detailed help on your issue.
