Hi.......before logging into SL, at the start page where you put your password and name, take a look at the top tabs (can't remember exactly what they say now), but there's an option there to input a different log-in location. Maybe there's an issue with the Sim you were last at?
This is assuming you have previously managed to get into SL unhindered.

This is assuming you have previously managed to get into SL unhindered. On the log in page at the top of the UI "Edit" > preferrences. On the General tab there is check box to "show start up location". Check it and apply and ok out of the edit. Restart SL and the location field be on your UI just below your login fields. The location box may be there as soon as you apply............can't remember for sure.

Hello, Ainariel, welcome to the forums! Very pretty name, by the way. There's been a rash of folks crashing on TP - I think LL may have done something to make it more likely that wearing a lot of scripts will nail you. So, try doing a bunch of TPs without ANY scripted hair, clothing, boots, HUDs etc., and see if that helps. If so, add back things in little batches until you find the things that crash you. For example: Tekelii-ii (sp?) just recently had a bang-up sale. The scripts in his lovely clothes, hair and shoes cannot easily be removed. It probably will help a great deal to set them to non-running (I believe that is on the Tools menu). Collars and scripted body parts use a LOT of code. Our friends at OpenCollar have fairly low-lag solutions, but removing these products for your tests will knock out a lot of scripts. Damselfly and other manufacturers make scripted hair from which you can remove the scripts after adjusting. Make copies and DO remove them! The third-party Emerald viewer has some features that, if you use them all, will use a lot of your CPU. If you use Emerald and you have lower-end equipment, being low on CPU during TPs may cause you to lose contact with the server. Try turning off the scanner and IM encryption, for example. Good luck!

the same thing is happening to me, the only thing that helps is rebooting my PC. After doing this Im able to TP some place else but then Im stuck again. I triend removing everything that was scripted and it didnt help. I hope they solve the problem soon cause its very annoying.
