Why the required update? & why can't i connect to a region?

I cant find anywhere that says why the required update, just some of the issues people have had with it.

Seems that most people are able to get on, but i am not, and wondering if anyone else has the issue & if they know a way to get it to work again. Figured was worth asking

Takes a long time to get through the logging in part, and then just stops at the 'connection to region'

anyone else have that problem or know a fix?

About the required update....

How long ago did you last login? (o.o)

Are you in the RC client? (o.o)


About "Connecting to region"....

Other than that, it could be that your home location sim is all wonky or that your avatar is ghosted somewhere and the server ain't kicking it off. Best do a support ticket if nothing else. (^_^)

EDIT:: Ah.. Just noticed we're in the middle of rolling restarts. It might be a good idea to just ride it out. (^_^)y

hmmm that's messed up. i replied but it's not here lol

I logged in yesterday morning and when i tried to login again it said i had to download the update. i didn't have a choice. i saw that i avoided the repeating loop issue they like to do that every so often i guess.


i thought the rolling restarts were all finished, didn't know we'd have more. after them i was finally able to log in. although before it allowed me to i was able to get in on another id. still would like to know why it said optional update till i tried logging in lol. but that's not the first time they've done that either, but atleast then they gave reason!

oh well. thanks for the reply, and keeping fingers crossed that maybe for once sl will be stable
