I try and login, and once the client initializes world it crashed to desktop. When it crashes i get 3 popups.
1. Windows popup that says: Second life has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
2. Second Life crash logger.
3. In the background i see a DOS window running c:/windows/system32/cmd.exe

Anyone else getting this?

Help..i tried restarting my computer and turning off programs running in the background.

You weren't trying to run in windowed mode were you?

Bad stuff happens if your desktop is set to 16-bit color and you try to run SL in windowed mode. You need to set your desktop to full-color or use SL in fullscreen.
