What the... I'm in the Brazilian section?

Hi, I know this isn't exactly a technical issue, but I couldn't figure out where else I should post this.
When I signed up I put my country as Australia, but when I logged in to SL for some reason I was in what appears to be the Brazilian section, and everything was in, uh, Spanish?
I already told the client to make the language English in the preferences, but I just want to know what the heck happened here, and how do I go to an English speaking area?

Maybe, when signing up you've inadvertedly choosed the Kaizen Games link at the left (Kaizen Games represents Lindens Labs/Second Life in Brazil). This way you were linked to a Brazilian's start land.

Every avatar has a place called home. If you are killed, or if you choose to Teleport Home from the menu, this is where you go. If you login to Home, this is where you go.

I have no idea why your home seems to be Brazilian (who speak Portuguese, btw), but it is easy to change your Home.

Go to one of the Public areas such as Ahearn, NCI, Memory Bazaar, or any of many others, and choose Set Home to Here on the from the menu.

Go to the Pond, mate, to hook up with all the Aussies, and see if you can set home there.
Search on the map button for called "The Pond", it's run by Telstra, but others can get in there no problems, bandwidth there is free for Bigpond customers too.
