problem logging into second life

hi...i recently signed up and downloaded second life but i am unable to log in .
everytime i go to run s/l it starts,comes up detecting hardware then the programme shuts down.
my laptop has the following specification:- ms windows vista home premium sp2
genuine intel cpu t2080 @ 1,73Ghz,2,0gb ram ati raedon xpress 1100

could anyone give me any idea what the problem could be and a solution to it??

any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm going to bump this so that somebody smarter than me sees it... however I don't see your graphics card listed here: https://secure-web43.secondlife.com/my/support/system-requirements/

So that may be the problem.

I assume it's a graphic driver problem, and the usual crap with ATI.

What can you do? I don't know what ATI model that is and what drivers do support it. Stay away from the latest Catalyst, they are borked. Try if you can use Catalyst 7.11 (yes, that is from the stone age) with your chipset.

If that is not possible see if you can go into preferences on top of your login screen (before actually logging in) and disable VBO in graphic settings. Also scale down all other settings.
