Is anyone else having trouble with downloading the Release Candidate or even the stable SL viewer client?
I've been reading about problems with Amazon's S3 service, (who provide client downloads for Linden Lab) but I thought they have resolved the problems with that?
The auto-updater gives up after about 2-3 minutes and if I go to the download section of the website and try to download any version of the client, it starts downloading at around 3kbps for a few seconds then stops downloading altogether. Not good.

This sounds exactly like what I am dealing at the moment. I get a feeling that the isp I'm using right now is somehow blocking the download; I am out of town and not on my regular isp.
If the OP sees this, I'd like to know if you've been trying this download on a different isp, or the same one you have used in the past.

Don't try downloading/updating direct from the client, use the download links from the SL website. I can get around 400-600kbps from amazon download site and I'm in the UK.
