I'll be playing and... poof! Second Life disappears. No "logging out" or anything like that. It's just gone. It's a very recent problem and this morning I've been trying to play but I haven't been able to because I've had three disappearing problems since I started--which wasn't too long ago. Any time I log in, I end up logged out a half a minute later. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Daem,
I guess you noticed we're both having problems since the downtime this morning. I thought your suggestion was a good one, so I reinstalled, but I still can't log on. So you're ahead of me...you get 15 seconds. I get none, except in 1.4 Preview, so I guess that's where I'll head for now. Maggie |

Hmmm.. lots of things could be causing this. I'm assuming your internet connection is otherwise OK and that it's only SL that's playing up?
Reinstalling is always a good first step especially as SL doesn't have any persistant data. Assuming you are on a windows box make sure your anti-virus is up to date. If a windows box starts acting up out of the blue I'm always suspicious that it may have become infected. |

If I'd read a bit further down the forum I might have noticed that the whole network is down.

The reinstallation helped for a couple of hours, but then all the sudden while I was building the game just shut off. This time, the thing that records SL crashes popped up--but it kind of just sat there, frozen, until I hit the X button to cancel it out. I logged in after that to say goodbye to the people I'd accidentally disappeared on, but for now, I suppose, my SL is going to be shaky.
