I am getting this message, yet here is the thing: I know I can run SL on it. NO FIREWALL at all, and this is said to be the main issue with this problem. No firewall, and I am wired DSL. I have never had problems connecting to the internet or any multiplayer game like this. Submitted a ticket, they logged on my account to see what was wrong. Nothing that they could see, so it has to be on my end. Yet, after they logged in , I was actually able to log on and get on! Today, I can't. So frustrated.

Are you asking for some help with an issue?

 Okay..........a little bit to go on. Have you done the obvious like clearing your cache? Resetting you modem and router, if you have one? How current are your video drivers? And you say you get the region handshake........what happens after that point? Does it just stall and go no further? Do you crash after a few minutes? Or do you get a pop up telling you something has gone awry or anything like that? A little about what operating system you, how fast your DSL connection is (and if you've tested it lately), the viewer you are using to try to connect with, how much system RAM, how much dedicated video RAM, how fast your CPU is plus any other pertinent information you think might help somone to help you. Okay, I skimmed the DXDiag...... Your system should run SL at medium settings quite well

Yep, tried clearing my cache first thing after I couldn’t get on today. Video drivers are up to date -- def not the problem, since when I got on last night I had no graphic problems, it ran very well, no lag or anything! I want to add that before the time I got on last night, I hadn’t been on in over a year.
After it says the bit about the region handshake, I get either ‘You have been disconnected from the region.’ or ‘We’re having trouble connecting. There must be a problem with your internet connection or the Second Life Servers. You can either check your internet connection and try again in a few minutes, click Help to connect to our support site, or click Teleport to attempt to teleport home.’
Windows Vista, using the default Second Life viewer/log in thing. 2.00 G RAM. I have 700 kbps as far as allowed bandwidth, and 500 MB for cache; for SL. My computer is really good as far as fastness. I have a D-Link router, which I reset. No go. :{
Results from a bandwidth speed test:
Download Speed: 12458 kbps (1557.3 KB/sec transfer rate) Upload Speed: 4414 kbps (551.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
EDIT: A possible solution -- I will have to get someone to take a look at the setting for my D-Link and see if I need to add SL to the list. I normally dont have to do so, but I guess therein lies the problem?

It's possible that your router needs configuring. I haven't had a D-Link device in years but the last one I had I did call their tech support and they were excellent..........you might give them a quick call. They can talk you through any setting you might need.........just tell them what you are having problems with. I can't speak for D-Link's techs but the last time I talked to Linksys tech they knew SL and how to configure my router for some intermittant problems I was having at the time.
Editing to add
You might want to edit out your name on the DXdiag you posted.

Took out the PC name
No luck on the router porting. Even took down that firewall, no use.
At a loss of what to do.

What exactly did you do about router porting? Here's the KB article on port settings: http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/How_do_I_configure_my_hardware_firewall_%28such_as_a_router%29Here's a chart with some info on ports, udp, tcp, etc. http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Firewall_ConfigurationWhen you search the SL jira system the bulk of the responses suggest making sure the ports are opened properly. Are you running anything like Peer Guardian?
