Unable to open freebie boxes?

I'm fairly new to the game, even though I've had my account for a while now...like '07. I deeply apologize if this thread doesn't belong here, and I have spent the last three hours trying to find a previously made thread regarding this issue, having no luck whatsoever.

I have purchased a few freebie boxes (three to be exact) and when I try to drag it to the field to open it, it's says I'm unable to do so. Why is this? What am I doing wrong? I watched tutorials on how to open the box and as far as I can see I'm doing what I'm supposed to be doing. The actual error I'm getting says "owner of this land does not allow it". In that case, how am I supposed to open the box to get the contents?

Please help me in this matter.

no, you did nothing wrong, hehehe. You are in a place where building (also rezzing objects, etc. ) is not allowed.

Simply open your search (Button down at you screen in SL client) and look for a so called sandbox. Select one of the results in your search results window and click "teleport". You will teleport to that sandbox.

Finally take a look at the top menu on your screen. Right beside the text based menu should appear some symbols. You need to see no box there. If the box is crossed out or is seen in any way, you're still in the wrong place.

If you have found a place where this box symbol turns to go away resp. does not appear any more...you can rez, open and unpack your freebie boxes.
