Anyone made a working Telescope/Binoculas?

I went searching and was supprised that no-one seems to have invented a working Telescope or BInoculas for use in SL.

I know you can use the ALT key to zoom into things, but I'd have thought for sure, there would be a working Telescope (possibly via a HUD) that offered you a real working telescope to you could stand upon a mountain and zoom in on distant objects, ships, etc etc....

But all I could find are ones with predrawn photo's of the sky you look at.

The main issue there is the maximum distance you can see relative to your avatars position, which is 512 mtrs. After that distance, if your avatar is further away, you will see nothing more than LL grasslands.
