Tenaya Cathedral is a replica of Mont-Saint-Michel Cathedral
and its surrounding landscape.

Tenaya Cathedral and the Island
of Shivar are being designed and created
by YadNi Monde and Crazy Techs Engineers.

The term "historic" refers to the fact that the cathedral
at Mont-Saint-Michel, France,
(constructed beginning in 1058 AD) is one of the great
architectural monuments of the world.

As mentioned above, Tenaya Cathedral and the Island of Shivar
will open to the public on Oct 16, 2005 at 3PM.

We invite all residents to attend the opening ceremonies.
We ask that you make reservations as space is limited and
reservations are first come, first served.

Best,

Then it is a REPLICA of a historic cathedral. It, in and of itself, is not historic. Nit-picking, perhaps, but true, nonetheless.

Mont-Saint-Michel! Woooo! Now I can hike up a 50 degree incline while eating flan in the virtual world too!

Build a replica of St. Malo near it, I'd so move in. :)

SL historic Darkwood Cathedral

As for historic in the SL time-line sense... feel free to come and see the cathedral in Darkwood.

At this point, the build is over a year and a half old and in one of the oldest sims in the original grid. It is a gothic style cathedral originally built by 3 talented residents of that medieval/fantasy sim and SL. It has changed hands such that I bought this parcel and the cathedral many months ago partly for the SL historic preservation. It is a beautiful and historic landmark to Second Life and a build that would have been sad thing to have let fade into the ether.

If you want to know more about it drop me an IM or visit Darkwood (153,153)

:)
