So I've been looking at the sorry state of secondlife events, of course everyone knows what I mean, and I've been wondering, does anyone have any good ideas for events? Or know of any groups of people looking for help with original events? I'd really like to help in any way I can!

Original Events
07-26-2005 04:04
Come by the spa and pick up an events schedule and you'll see lots of original events. We have a group bedtime story (each person making up 3 lines), captions, new players welcome parties, scener's competitions and much more. If you would like to help out with events at the Phoenix Hotsprings Spa and Massage, let Charissa Korvin know. She's our new Events Manager.

Anything that brings people together is amazing. How about a flash mob?

Well there's always Tringo.
<dodges thrown primitives> Seriously, there is a severe drought of events, some of the best I have been to were building classes (a lack of them now), avatar contests where you show off your hard work on your avatar, trivia events, dogfighting, racing, role playing, and sailing. Granted Tringo events are a way for the event host to get a few extra lindens, but with the event list over saturated with 2*ingo events we need variety. Hell if I had the ability to take an event idea I've had on the back burner for months and make it a virtual reality I would. But I lack the scripts and animations needed to make it all work. _____________________

Ahem, with the recent (staggering) success of my Tarot readings, I am no longer utterly broke... Just wanted to say that now.

re Flash Mob

Outstanding. No real reason for gathering. Just a group wanting to hang out. It could be done in some unsuspecting land owners backyard, on a platform at 200m, in the middle of a lake...All could wear funny hats, smurf Avs, formal wear...

I like the Flash Mod idea... There should be a group to join so that to call a Flash Mod you just IM the group. Then anyone who could would show up.
Of course, I'm not so sure what a sim will do when 50 to 100 AVs descend on it all at once... |

Might I suggest a Riddle City Ransom Party. It uses flash and swarm techniques to bring people together for hours.
Players in Riddle City Ransom need to trade with one another to reveal riddle pieces. When 7 trades have been made the players have the complete riddle. They then leave the event as they head for the Riddle City Ransom land implied by riddle. After beating a quick puzzle game and solving the riddle they come back to the event to trade again. It was fun to watch the swarming... at some points we had close to 30 people at the party and then we'd have 5, then 30, then 5... everyone had a lot of fun with it. _____________________

OMG the Riddle City is awesome!!!! Not only were the puzzles a challenge, and the fact that it brought people together, but you got cool cool attachments. And had to level up. . . and had to do some searchin on some other lands. . . and its just rocks!!!!!!

Ahem, with the recent (staggering) success of my Tarot readings, I am no longer utterly broke... Just wanted to say that now. whoooooooooooooooooooo what a FAB idea! OMG you genius!! Are you the chap who owns that tarot table?? WOW lol ..sorry but WOW!!! I wish I had your skill & of thought of that...i mean..that MUST be a little gold mine in SL? Cause its new and not hammered to death like clothes, skins, hair etc... and no different than doing a reading on the phone or online via some website which I see...infact its better cuz at least you have 'some' representation of the person whom your reading for. I once got into reading and trying to learn them...but when i realised the VAST amount of info & learning required it put me right off I'm afraid. whooo send me a link! i want a reading ![]() _____________________
