I am considering hosting some live music. I wonder if anyone here can answer some questions I have. How much do performers charge? I know there must be a wide range based on talent, but what is an average right now? Also, I think I would like to hire an event host/manager. What is a fair price to pay a person for a job like that? Thanks in advance.

In my inquiries, live artists (including DJs) can charge from 500-10,000 per hour. It depends on their quality, genre, and fan base. Some artists you can almost guarantee a min of 30 ppl will show up from their group to every gig. There are professional musicians in SL. Expect to pay them accordingly. However, considering the value of Lindens, it is a TINY fraction of what they could expect irl. Think about it; a fee of L$4000 = about $15 USD. SL Artists do it for the fun and exposure. There is an expectation that you will allow tip jars. Most are very good about promoting the venue. Its been a lot of fun working with live artists. They are good people If I had endless linens, I'd do a lot more live gigs at my place. As far as the event/host manager I think you could work out an hourly rate + % of the house tips. So far, I find tips to the house to be close to nil. People tend to tip people, not venues. Once in awhile you get a big tipper that lets you almost break even for the night. It's almost always another club owner who likes to help you out
