www.eventful.com now has a direct feed of Second Life events from our calendar. Simply go to eventful's website and type 'second life' into the 'where' box and get an array of listings. Eventful has several features that make sorting through event listings easier.

Hey Jesse,

This looks very cool and should be an awesome way to get people into SecondLife.

One question though - when the MAP api was released, there was some talk of releasing a webservices API for events / land for sale.

Are these still on the burner or will they no longer be exposed publically for everyone?

Please let us know.

Regards,

Iron.

Well, as the events are posted in eventful.com, it's possible to get to them using the
Eventful API ;)

While useful as a bandaid, that adds an extra layer (and possible point of failure) between the developer and the data. If LL has made the effort to post the events there, why not take the time to write the trivial code to create an RSS feed for events? Only make it cover the next 24 hours and cache it hourly so it's not burdening the backend db, and you wouldn't even need 'an API'. Nothing between us and the data except a possible website outtage at LL.
