Hi. I am hoping you can help me. I am new to SL and I would like to hold some educational classes on beginners fiction writing and animal psychology. It looks like I need to get Linden permission for this? How do I do this? Where can I hold my classes? Can anyone give me a script or ideas for presentation displays?

OK, firstly you can hold classes any time... you only need Linden approval if you want to get paid for it. If so, see this page for more information.

Zina - since I love animals, I would love to attend this class if you hold it. I am also a beginning writer and would love to attend those classes. So, please put me on your list?

I'd go to the animal psychology class! Great idea! Can you give us more info on what it would be about? Domestic or feral animal psychology?

Be aware, though, that as of the last time I talked with a Linden about this, they are offering support ONLY for classes regarding SL topics, not anything to do with RL education or non SecondLife software topics.

Hence they likely won't pay you for this class, nor for any Learn to Play Tringo classes, etc.

Check with the Lindens though, as things change frequently.

Hi guys
It is great to get so much positive feedback and help. THank you! Yes the animal psychology class is similar to that on animal planet - only it is from my experience and training. I was just going to start with cats and dogs, but if there is more interest I can move onto other animals, including wild animals such as bottlenose dolphins. It was to be a practical class that would allow you to work with your pets in RL. I will look into how to hold it and the presentation and get back to you. I will contact the Linden's but I was just going to charge people (I have seen this in other classes). Wasn't sure where to hold it though. Can you just have a class on anyone's land? I would of course get permission from the owner.
Thank you so much for your offers to support my classes. I will get started on getting them running.
Does anyone have a presentation script or display board I can use?

OH yeah... it is for animals and non-animals (humanoids) to learn about their pets!!

I was about to say much the same thing. I have a stage set up in Mocha for classes already. You, or anyone else here is more than welcome to use it (provided you don't leave vivisected prims all over the seats). Just contact me first to ensure I've not reserved it for someone.
