I just noticed that we are not supposed to announce new events in events forums. Something I have been doing for a while. I remember at one time you were supposed to post upcoming events, especially when events used to be Linden sponsored. Right now in the events forum description it says:
Questions, ideas, and tips for managing and hosting Second Life events. (Please do not use this forum to announce or review specific events.)
Does anyone know if there is an appropriate forum to announce events in now?

This is the Events discussion forum: "Questions, ideas, and tips for managing and hosting Second Life events. (Please do not use this forum to announce or review specific events.)".
The Classified section's Special Events at the bottom of the Forum page would be the place to announce specific events.

Oh I see. Well I will move my postings down to special events then and stop spamming here then.  Maybe I will actually get more notice down there. Maybe not. |

You're right, this forum (under Discussion Forums) is for the discussion of events, event questions, etc. There is a whole set of Forums for the posting of events, advertising, etc - the Classifieds Forum!

Actually - that's not a half-bad idea. I can see where someone would automatically assume that the "Events" forum is a place to post events.
"Event Discussion" would make a lot more sense.

Just changed the name of this forum to Event Discussion to see if it cuts down on event postings. |
