The districts of Paradis will each have names other than their original design.
However, we'd like to see cultures be able to dominate a district, because each culture's take on a post-apoc environment (within the guidelines of the Sector laws and RP rules) would be fascinating and add plenty of color to the RP environment.
So which districts would you like to see?

Personally, I like the RP potential of district deities.
But in implementation I think people are IRL probably too uppity for it.

What about class based (nobility, middle, etc) with inner sections within of a 'like' community. Kind of like the real worl'd chinatown attracting large numbers of oriental businesses, certian groups would band together in an area to have their peers about. This would give rise to high class furry areas, middle class, and low class areas for furries (as one specific example) which can illustrate the various 'in-culture' biases as well as cover the basic desire to be around those like us.

If the separation by Class is not the established method, you'd see each class living together in a district, on "streets". This would give street addresses to everyone, so if someone said "I live on 102 Pleasant Path, Cydon" you'd know they were in an upper class neighborhood, where someone saying "I live on Wallside Drive,Cydon" you know they live next to the city wall in a mid-low class area in the same district.

If you're setting up a hierarchical class system, and inviting people to RP as members of your classes, won't everyone choose the top level?
In online games people strive to become elite in whatever ways the game mechanics allow. Being a hardcore gamer, I've seen this pattern a LOT.

It would be interesting

I would like to see a class and caste structure. It would be interesting to have different groups of elite fighters, training fighters, ect.

Again this is just a concept of what your could look like, gives you ideas. Im also working on a basic shell for a lowerclass house when we have our next big meeting ill try and have it done so i can show everyone.
i misspelled fournish ... i dont know how to really spell it sorry...

Looks good, but to be this clean, it would be the top-end of upper-crust.

remamian,
I was able last night to get a look at your build. I think it looks great. Would this be part of a high rise?

Sly, the general thought is to make a "main sim" where the Ark ruins itself exist; the hub of the city.
You'll notice you had to teleport. This is because the idea is to make the "main sim" nothing but solid buildings when it comes to houses, part of the hull of the Ark itself or skyrises. People can then get the prefab that fits them and skybox it. The teleport could take you from the city hub all the way to your house on a completely separate sim (possibly even mainland) so that there's no necessary "Island" living.
If you think of it like "zoning" into and out of your house, that's the best comparison. This way, one sim can essentially have an infinite number of people "living" in it. I'm going to develop an outside texture for boxing properties that proclaims the parcel to be part of Paradis.

To expand on this:
LL is eventually going to make object rendering "cull". This means that if you can't see it, it doesn't rez, and things rez as you come into view of them. THis differs from the current system because as things are now, objects rez in their entirety based on their distance from you, even if you can't see them. The GPU and even CPU cycles, as well as bandwidth, this will free up is insane.
This also adds benefit to boxing in properties. Indeed, a 512 skybox or ground building that is boxed in will have the best performance in SL versus any other parcel configuration. By "boxing in" our Paradis universe, citizens will have performance in every "area" that exceeds that offered on a private island. By using the TP method, we also ensure that there's no limit to the number of people living in Paradis while keeping them from paying hefty land fees beyond the normal Linden charges. Current businesses could just put up new wall textures and box themselves in, then pay to have a Paradis TP installed, and boom, they're in the community while offering a smoother shopping experience than non-Paradis stores.
These methods provide a more immersive RP, while at the same time futureproofing for a "one day" patch.

Culling by no means is a miracle cure. There are very few situations in which culling would actually be that effective. It works to a degree, true, but its also quite computationally intensive, and I havn't seen anyone mention any signifigant framerate increases unless they enclosed themselves in a little 10x10x10 box. We need seprate optimization tools, imo. Culling would be great if we could make a 'plane' bigger than 10x10. Why can't we have dedicated non-prim based optimization tools? Having seprate 'portal 'nodraw' 'hint' and 'clip' (etc) brushes are really what makes BSP based engines so great. The mapper can do ALOT in regard to optimization. A skilled mapper can make amazingly detailed maps, and also have great performance if they planned everything out well. Why isn't this possible in sl? All builders can currently do is reduce prims. Theres not enough potential for optimization. Hell, why cant we have a 'sky' texture that we could apply to prims? It would make sense for culling.. could have a room with the sky visible, but still have real opaque brushes completley enclosing it. Sl is dynamic, unlike bsp, but there could still be alot done. Why couldn't we have 'architecture' prims and 'object' prims? Why couldn't there be a mini-compile system that works on a per-object (or per sim/parcel?) basis? Builders need more tools!
Anyhow, I'm done with that little rant. Paradis looks like it could certainly be a promising concept, and I hope it really gets off to a great start. I've been keeping up with all paradis topics since their conception, and I'm liking where its headed, for the mostpart. Keep it up!

For those of you who missed the construct for Paradis... Go hereFor future locations, lets use the slurl? http://www.slurl.com You simply plug the region, and coordinates into the formula to get a slurl.
