All the info can be found at www.elfclan.net , but I just wanted to post on how much this group has changed everything in sl, without it I would be nothing and same with many others. It is a very sad day to see Wayfinder Wishbringer leave sl and close the group to further activities and new members but no matter what happens in the future, we will always remember this wonderful clan and all it has done for everyone..

Being the first major high fantasy group in SL it reached over 600+ members and at one time held many sims. It really was a first for SL and it gave th idea for many subgroups around today. We will all miss it greatly.

Long Live the Clan!

Wow! someone really ought to wake up and pay attention. Do they do focus groups at Linden Labs? Because all the fun is leaching out of Second Life.

This is a tragic loss, and my heart goes out to all who are involved.

I have had my eye on this story for a while, and am very mindful of the lessons to be learned from all that has happened.

In such a painful time, I would offer this: Elf Clan is not a place or a thing but a community, and as such cannot be destroyed by mere loss of land.

I repeat to myself, when facing Caledon's challenges: "community is everything" - serve the community above all, and magic happens.

Great respect, Elves, I admire all you have done. There is a lot of magic left in Elf Clan, and to my mind your story is far from over.

Hello all, I had applied to help keep Elf Clan going. But sadly the decision was made to close it. I have an interest in doing something else along these same lines, and I would like some input from as many of you as possible in carrying on some of the traditions the Elf clan held. I have been in sl for 2 1/2 years and I agree that the fun is leaving SL. It saddens me to look in the popular places list and find nothing but sex and casino joints, I want to change that, so if you can help, please IM me in game, Thank you or your time

Well said, Desmond!!! I am not a member of Elf Clan or anything, I just wanted to say that you have made great points here.

Indeed, I might point out many Elf Clan members were part of a 'split' group, Elf Circle.

Elf clan was the first group I ever joined in sl, and I spent alot of time in the beautiful lands there.
There are alot of really good points being made, I've noticed how latley when I post events mine seems to be the only one which is a genuine "event" and not slingo/tringo/yardsale bla bla bla. I've also noticed how sl only seems to work slower and more laggy on every update, shouldnt this be the other way around! I really hope LL can put thier socks up and sort these issues out!

Alas, Elfclan is no more - signaling an end of an age to Second Life.

Why do the white gulls call?
Across the Sea a pale moon rises
The ships have come to carry you home
And all will turn to silver glass
A light on the water, grey ships pass
Into the West.)

Yes Desmond. You were right.
The story was far from over.
And now the story goes on.

Even if it was rumoured that Elf Clan had disappeared in fact it never did. It was dormant for many months yes and some of its leadership members actually left SL for half a year or more.
But memories never were lost. And so we returned to SL, one after another. And we started to look for the others who were scattered all over the world. And we found them.
But we had no 'home', no place to come together and be merry again.

Well, we have a home now.
On July 23 ElvenMyst reappeared on the SL grid, soon to be followed by ElvenHearth and ElvenDeep. Elf Clan members slowly started to enter their new lands as soon as the word started to spread out. Members who left the Clan after the 'rift' came back and joined again. Elf Clan came back to life.

What happened in the past will now slowly fade away, even if it will never be forgotten.
But we look to the future now.
And the future will be bright.

The story goes on.

Peter
