Speed Dating (Looking For Feed Back)

Tired of the bar scene? Hate set-ups? Already know all of your friends' friends, and have a healthy disinclination to date your co-workers? Inworld Easy Dates is the perfect solution. It's the efficient, effective, and fun way to meet other Second Life singles and figure out which ones you want to see again, without the awkwardness of ice breaking or getting stuck in long conversations with someone who is not for you. In one short evening, you will have at least ten six-minute dates.

A group of singles in your age group - an equal number of men and women - meet at a lounge bar filled with tables and couches for two. You'll sit at a numbered table with your first partner. The host rings a bell, and your first "date" begins. After six minutes the bell rings again, and you rotate on to a new partner. Each of you discreetly marks on a form whether you want to see the person you just met again. If you both picked "yes," you've matched.

By the end of the evening, you'll have met at least ten people. We'll also take a drinks break halfway through, so you can meet some of the other people you won't be paired with officially.

Interesting concept. However, due to the way chat works in SL, it's a lot more difficult to pick out the text coming from just the one person you want to pay attention to.

So, my recommendation for such a venture would be, make sure there's enough distance between couples that no couple will hear anyone other than who they're talking to, or else have it all run in IM's.

Avadate does a speed dating event in the UnderVooDoo Cafe. Folks move from table to table and either ask the 5 set questions or engage in idle chatter. The Cafe is larger than most venues so there is a 20 meter distance between two groups.
