I am assisting Katt Kongo and the Metaverse Messenger in putting on an art exposition in July, entitled:
Freedom to Express:
Tough Topics Through Art
or F2E for short.
Tonight, June 1, at 6pm PST, we will be holding a planning meeting at Katt Kongo's house in the sim, "glen lyon dAlliez".
The idea of this art expo is to have a sort of Burning-Life type expo where lots of SLrs can express their feelings on a controversial subject through art. This is a healthy way for people to be able to exchange ideas in a way other than fiery arguments.
This Expo's topic will be the War in Iraq.
It will be non-partisan run, so participants can choose to express whatever side they want to show without pressure that this is anti-war or pro-US or whatever. Entries can be patriotic, dissenting, whatever.
The expo will be held July 10 -26.
What we are looking for is volunteers to help with many aspects of the project:
- planning
- refining rules, how to allocate plots, etc.
- construction of infastructure
- advertising and promotion of the event
- sponsorships
- DJs and event hosts
So there is a lot to do!
