Hiring shoutcast server for event

I'm looking into putting on a themed event and want to play my choice of music. Does anyone rent out shoutcast servers by the hour, including copyright licence fees? If so how much does it cost?

As for the liscence... there's no liscence that'll cover a few hours... and if there were it'd probably be hundreds of dollars... totally not worth it.

I would be interested in that answer too. I mean, can I get in trouble by renting shoutcast and streaming music by my choice from my home sometimes?

I guess it must be some copyright rules about shoutcast and sl, but I cant find it anywhere. No notecards available at shoutcast inworld too. Anyone please know something about?

The answer is yes, you can be sued by whomever holds the copyright to the music you play if you do not have permission to play it. Anyone that broadcasts, plays music is bound by copyright.

I'm not sure about other countries, but in the US the Recording Artists Association of America represents the Recording Industry in copyright matters.
Here is their website http://www.riaa.com/ . You can purchase a yearly license and will cost several hundred dollars a year if you do not make money related to playing the music.... to several thousand depending on how you much money you make.
