You can now list 5 events per day versus 3. In addition, you can now allow anyone on your friends list to post and host an event on your land by designating the land in the Places directory as a meeting place.

From: Jeff Linden Keep in mind that your friends will now be able to post events on a parcel that you own, only if you have set that parcel to show up in Find Places as a Meeting Place.
If it is not set to show up, or set to show up as another kind of Place, the parcel will not be available to your friends, but will continue to be subject to other availability rules.
As of May 16, you may post an event on the parcel if:
- If YOU personally own the parcel, and it is over 512 square meters in size.
- If the parcel is owned by a GROUP that you are a member of, AND it is over 512 square meters. (You do NOT have to activate that group title.)
- If the parcel is in a private island that you are on the access list of, AND it is over 512 square meters.
- If the parcel belongs to Governor Linden, and it is set to show in Find Places as a meeting place.
- If the parcel belongs to a friend, and it is set to show in Find Places as a meeting place, AND it is over 512 square meters.
You may currently post up to 5 events within any 23 hour and 45 minute period. This allows you to post, effectively, 5 events a day, and then post the next day at the same time. Wow. Thanks, guys. Way exceeded my expectations Hopefully, this will sate us for a while until we can work on more permanant changes with the events work group. |

Do you really mean over 512 or 512 and over? Are people who have the 512 that comes with the minimum premium plan not able to post an event?

With the the new rules a few questions come to mind. Are all the other rules still in place, such as each event must be completely different. I understood the old rules to say a club can have several events but not two similar, an example was sexy av contest and ugly av contest wouldn't be allowed because they are too similar. And also, can classes be held on the same day if they are identical? Can I hold my class 5 times a day without LL support even if it's identical? Or must they be completely dfferent? Like building 101 and building advanced would be kind of different.
Also, are the people in places of power reading and discussing the ideas hashed out in the forums? Can we expect more positive changes in the very near future? ty vm for your efforts.

I think the Event Posting rules change to allow my Friends cards to post events at the Elbow Room is a good change, though I had to cancel all my Friends cards. I don't Group my Gathering Place so it will be a big help if I'm on vacation or sick as I'll be able to designate a "pre-approved" Friend to help-out. Thank you very much. : )
