I only have so many groups to begin with (15 is the limit). I hold events on mutiple areas of my property. I am a private island owner. now if I want to be able to have these events still in the difflocations around the sim. I will need to parcel up the land created a seperate traffic calculation for each parcel. which divides up the traffic that the event was posted to help build to begin with.
suggestion
utilize a by name list that a property owner can add and subtract to likethe one in estate tools (btw that tool I have used quite a bit and it works well) as to who can host events on the property.
I have had to use taht tool in the estate settings in order for events to be held on my property by diff people as it stands now if I get a few weddings to be held in one day then I cant have any other events at all.
There is a problem I agree but this is a larger problem as far as I can see.

Event calendar abuse is at an all tiem high!

Free posting are for events where there is not likely to be any money exchagned on either side! Book readings, arts exhibits, openings of public venues, music concerts or stage performances by actors. AA meetings or Dragon club meetings or the Daughters of the Confederacy coffee clatch! It does not mean yard sales or Zyngo or Slingo or best animal avatar contest at "The Farm Nightclub" of best chrome spikes at "Metal mania Disco and sports bar! If they want to run that stuf fine but make them pay to advertise it.

The free event calendar should be reserved EXCLUSIVELY for in world activites and EVENTS that are non reccurring and free to the public and are not for the purpose of selling someting or any other sort of commerce including "NEw Mall Opens" or "Land for Sale"! WHO CARES! IF you are running a business then advertise and stop exploiting the community activities PAY FOR YOUR ADVERTISING! Land being for sale is not an event! Houses for rent are not events!

Having said that and being a mall owner and an event promoter in world myself I will ad this about the "Grand Openings" and the "we are giving away a free crapload of Lindens from a sploder" because its easy and it attracts the lowest common denominator of traffic kind of mentality and "live dj" as an event mentality. GET CREATIVE!

IF you want to promote a opening of a new mall then throw a party, have fireworks, a live band, and truely give away some nice prizes! Spend your advetising and marketing budget! Do something FUN!

Dont Bother Using The Event Calendar !

Unless you are a casino or a nightclub runnning a SLINGO shack or trying to help your ignorant patrons learn their colors DONT BOTHER TO USE THE EVENT CALENDAR!

ITS USELESS IN ITS CURRENT STATE OF CONFUSION AND OBVIOUS LACK IOF INTEREST OF ENFORCEMENT OF THE RULES ON THE PART OF THE LINDENS!

The %$^%&^% content filter on the description window will only accept words like Slingo Bingo and Best dressed in (enter color here)!

If anyone can tell me why this copy is not being accepted then I'll go away and shut up but until then I will do everything I can to educate everyone about the innefectiveness and heavily biased event system and the lack of administaration over it!

ATTENTION! Shoppers and the just curious!
The Tuzandi Bazaar,is now open and to celebrate the opening of the newest and maybe the only complex of its’ kind, the Festival Square Merchants group is having a huge grand opening event!

?? The content filter kicks it out everytime! WHY?

Events Calendar not letting me add an event

Ever wanted to race in a triathlon? If you can’t find the time to train in real life, why not do a triathlon in Second Life?

Location Etopia Island
Start Time 10am SL time
race start at 10.15 SL time
End Time 12pm SL time

REGISTER TODAY Visit SL Triathlon and touch the registration box Problems IM Suzy Spaatz

At the finish line, expect to receive trophies for each participant and prizes for the top 3 men and women.

You should have your own run animation, preferably your own bike & swim animations. Some bikes and swim animations will be made available, but be sure to register ahead of time to ensure that we will be able to accommodate you.

NOTE ONLY pre registered participants can race

Please can a linden tell me why this is not acceptable on the calendar?
