The Status of Plywood Chef

So, my RL has been a bit busy of late, but the plywood wheels have still been turning. Here's a tentitive preview of what's likely to come up in the next few weeks.

Contests: I will be hosting rather informal Plywood Chef contests over the next few weeks for smaller prizes (say, L$100 and a t-shirt to the winner). There may be a small entrance fee (L$10 or less) to compete. Winners will still be decided by audience vote but I will also be personaly scouting for potential Plywood Chefs to be the 'stars of the show' so to speak. A new contest format based on chalangers vs Plywood Chefs is still in the brainstorming stages (I'll gladly read any suggestions people care to respond to this post with).

People: Plywood Chef will be seeking the following people, asside from the Chefs themselves:
- Sponsors: Advertising will be sold to SL businesses and locations in the form of banners on the audience bleachers. Prices TBD (I'll have to do some research to see what it ought to be worth) and you have to provide your own graphics.
- Designers: Wanted to design t-shirts, hats, chef's uniforms and a chairman's outfit...or several chairman's outfits. This is a paid offer: if you're interested, drop me a notecard in-world with your name, item or items you're interested in designing, your price and either a landmark to your store or photos/samples of your work. I have a very basic logo made which I will provide to designers...you will be free to embelish on it but I retain the right to not accept what you made if I don't like it.
- Cast members and judges: Ever want to be Fukui-san? Ota the floor reporter? Dr. Hatori? The gigiling female judge? (I can just immagine Torley in that spot with a watermellon-colored komono...) Maybe even (*hushed whisper*) The Chairman? Best way to "apply" for this position is to show up at an event and strut your stuff, while notifying me via IM that you would be interested in doing this on a regular basis. This will probably be a voulenteer position, but you'll certianly get some perks like free t-shirts and other cool stuff.

Elle, Im a busy little beaver myself and have events all week from 6-8 PM PST. But I just love your idea. What times are you looking at for having these? Waves and I will take a look on how we can help. If we cant be judges, we would be sponsors.

Thanks, Tang. Right now, the competitions have been running in the 5 pm PST time slot (8pm in the evening for me), one on a weekday (generaly Wendsday) and one on a weekend (deciding between Saturday and Sunday at the moment).

I'll have to remember to come down and catch the next Survivor event.

I will definately be checking this out, it looks like a lot of fun. :>

Look for an event this weekend. There might have been one today, except for the fact that I was traveling this weekend and kinda got snowbound by the blizzard in Boston where I was visiting friends.

On which point, while it's not the same thing, I am holding a speed building contest at 1pm today (game time). It might help keep the shakes away til Elle can get her event booked.
