Looking for Help re: FundRaisers & Support Groups

Dreams is gearing up to hold its second Community Fair.

I am trying my best to locate support groups and non-profits in SL in order to invite them to feature themselves through activities and a booth at the Fair.
If anyone has any suggestions of groups, please contact The Sojourner so that we can issue an invitation. (And, yes, I already have Relay for Life and Supportforhealing ).

Also, in conjunction with the Fair this year, we are going to plan a fundraiser for the American Stroke Association. Dreams was founded as the activity base to support ShockProof, a group of stroke survivors and those interested in stroke, in SL. It also hosts the Brigadoon Explorers, a group of people interested in Asperger Syndrome and Autism.

We targeted the American Stroke Association's Stroke Connection Magazine as the recipient of the donated monies because it is a wonderful magazine written by and for stroke survivors and their families and often is distributed without cost. (Soj is a multiple-stroke survivor.)

I have never run a fund-raiser before and would love any bits and pieces of insights or assistance that any of you can give me.

Hi - sounds wonderful! I do know someone who was a professional fundraiser for a time in first life; not sure if I have permission to release her avatar name here so please contact me inworld and I can put you two in touch. She knows a lot more about this stuff than I do!
