NORML is looking to be promoted at public events. If you are a member/supporter of NORML and you are holding a public event please contact me if you wouldn't mind me putting a information/donation jar down at the event. It would be very much appreciated by NORML. Help us legalize marijuana!

As someone who went through the late 60s-70s (and was at the 1973 SMOKE-IN at the Washington Monument) and who lost several friends to things like LSD (2 people went out of windows when they decided they could fly without wings), heroin (several ODs, one fatal), and meth (one girl I knew was beaten so badly she had permanent brain damage by her boyfriend who was a speed freak), I'll support this WHEN HELL FREEZES OVER.

Yes, I did the odd toke here and there, way back when -- and I can just hear you about to spout the BS line about pot NOT BEING ADDICTIVE.... one very charming guy I knew became SERIOUSLY ADDICTED to pot -- and ended up not being able to put a sentence together that had words of more than one syllable. POT KILLS BRAIN CELLS. I KNOW THIS FOR A FACT -- I HAVE SEEN IT HAPPEN TO FRIENDS.

Just FYI.

I don't think NORML supports the legalization of hard drugs like LSD, Heroin, or Meth; although I could be mistaken on that. Regardless - I'm in complete agreement with you that it does society no good having these drugs available for general consuption.

Pot is a completely different animal. I think that for most folks, pot is not addictive. However, some individuals indeed have addictive personalities, and can become 'addicted' to pot much like they can become addicted to alcohol.

If you strip away the criminality of pot, I see it as a substance that has less harmful social effects than alcohol. If you are aware of studies that show that pot is more socially harmful than alcohol, I'd be very interested in seeing them.

Our government spends a great deal of my tax dollars enforcing the illegality of pot. I'd like to see pot decriminalized for adults over 21, and focus our law enforcement energies on things that carry a greater risk to our society such as Meth, Cocaine & Heroin.

Drug dealers also oppose the legalization of their wares. You know, keeping it illegal keeps the $ value up.

As a member of M.A.P.S., I'd be happy to promote NORML by keeping a donation jar at my places of business in SL.

I could almost laugh at those people who rant and rave about the "evils of weed" if their ignorance weren't so pervasive and sad.

I wish they could see that the aspirins they eat, the air they breathe driving home from work, the coffee they drink every day, is far more poisonous and dangerous than marijuana. Not to even mention the deadliest american tradition - beer.

IM me in-game, Twopack.

But you'd better assure me that our donations are going to NORML, and not just more L$ in your pocket or I'll hunt you down and spike your drinking water with a by-product of the phosphate industry that is so toxic it cannot legally be disposed of - Fluoride!!! Moo-ha-ha!

(edit) Oh - and about the "charming guy who got addicted to pot and now can't form a sentence" and "people flying out of windows on LSD" mentioned above... I don't mean to be disrespectful of your beliefs, but you've been watching way too much TV. When you convince yourself that things happened, when in fact they didn't - THAT's called hallucinating. Put the Chocolate Easter Bunny down, and keep your hands where we can see 'em.
