Cross Country Snail Racing Interested?

Just a thought who would be interested in helping to officiate a cross country snail race.
I'm thinking starting on the east coast mainland road to the end of the road near the sandboxes at the spooky house ride, it seems like that takes about an hour or so to run it. I was thinking in order to enter you need to bring a friend to help officiate the race then assign everyone a snail they didn't come with so no ones watching there own friend. But that could be a problem with people crashing or loosing track of the snail there supposed to be watching people being called away by real life and stuff like that.
So maybe the only way to really keep track of everyone is with something like timeless prototypes multi gadjet av scanner and post judges at all intersections plus a few other places along the way. they'd need to wear a sign pointing the correct way to turn at the intersection. maybe even form a temporary group so we could relay the results up the line so judges along the way would know who's should be in the lead and who just teleported 3 Sims and is cheating.
Anyway I'll be watching this thread if you have any ideas or just want to try to help out say so
I'll take donations for prizes. I think it would be pretty cool to see 20 or 30 snails running down the road at one time. the snails are scripted so they can't fly or jump so falling off the road could be very hard to get back to.

ok cool so thats three we need a few more maybe could do it by leap frogging ahead of the crowd after all anyone a few intesections behind the leaders is out of the race anyway just need some careful planning.

I would be happy to do the multigadget thing for you. I would be *horrible* at racing though. Is this going to be a Saturday event like the normal races?

I would have only one snag up and that would be if the dates of the Cross Country bounced on top of Second Life's Relay For Life, July 22. Anxious to hear from ya.

Yay! ok well schedual it around the Second Life's Relay. Guess I ought to pick a date for this. Want it to be instead of my usaul race at montmartre on Saturday Morning so we can get all the regulars there. BTW those are starting to be a pretty busy event had Yadni racing in it last week.

Woo woo, snail rally! Can snails wear chains for winter driving? VROOM! As for the part about falling off the road.... well, where'd they get their racing license if they managed to spin out a snail? Oh, wait, I suppose the road'll have a lot less traction for the ones back in the pack...

OK we have a date the 15Th of July and Its going to be for a good Cause too Fighting Cancer
I've been approached by the Relay for Life Group and I'll be working with them to use this event to collect money for the American Cancer Society to fight Cancer

If you'd like to toss us some prizes to give more people incentive to get involved please feel free to do so .
It's not confirmed but well see if we can get someone to loan us some land we can pile the prizes up on so people can see them or at the very least add your donation to a list of prizes along with your name/company that will be on display in this thread and a few other prominent locations (open to suggestions).The race will be 2 fold the snail that collects the most donations and the winner of the actual race and maybe a combination of both. Also asking that you make a minimume donation of 100 $L to one of the Relay for life donation Kiosks that you see anywhere (theres one on my pier in Fujin and one at the track in Montmartre but any Kiosk will do)

Also I'll be running an add in the M2 and hopefully well get a lot more Snails
on the track I'm hopping for a huge turnout of between 20 and 40 snails and of course spectators along the 40 minute run donating cash care of the racering snail of there choice
the snails will be equipetd with an envelope giving shell that you can touch and recieve an envelope you can stuff money into that will go directly to the Relay For Life American Cancer Society and help to fight Cancer.

WARNING!@ I have looked at the route for the race. We will pass a a few places with snow. Im worried there might be salt on the road. Will there be any problems with this during the race?
