...Wasn't it not so long ago that we could pick our own event location, when creating an event?
Instead, I have in front of me a list of preset locations, it seems, (six in total), and I've no idea how they got there. I went through all of my group's owned land lists, and could only find 3/4 of what I was looking for. For example, I rent a flat in Zephyr, and have it set as Home. Then why doesn't it come up in that list of preset locations? Instead, there are places that I've never even visited before.  thanks! ) |

You can only make events for places you own, places your group(s) own, or specific Linden-provided places like Oak Grove. All parcels must be greater than 512m^2.
That's probably why your Zephyr flat doesn't show. _____________________

Like Aliasi said, and you can be a FRIEND too to post under certain conditions... hrmmm... the full list of thingamaroos to qualify is listed right here: http://secondlife.com/events/ and click ADD EVENT.
You'll see it says EVENT POSTING RULES! (Well, not "rules" in that sense.)_____________________

The information at the Events Posting Rules site is slightly wrong, there is no category "Meeting Places" in the Find Places dialog's category popdown list. One would hope that "Gathering Place" would server, but just because it means the same thing doesn't mean the program is working in accordance with human style thinking.
We used to be able to hold events in the sandboxes or at the old welcome area. There used to be building contests held at the sandboxes somewhat regularly. That might account for some of the "why not more good events?" Questions one hears about. _____________________

i'm having this same problem, which has been frustrating me, and the sim owners, to no end. the group location where i am trying to host an event is not on my list of location choices. it should be, as i am a group member, the land is more than 512, i have access to the land, etc. even a linden live helper was unable to figure out why this was happening. and i've heard no response from linden support, which i've emailed twice.
