I admit it...I like plants. Tall ones, short one, fat ones, skinny ones.
And, IMO, much of SL is just plain too barren.

In March, I had a backyard landscaping contest and plant bazaar that worked pretty well. The goal is to give landscaping ideas for all, especially those with a 512 lot. There were requests for another one so a plan is in the works.

This one is a Backyard Barbeque Landscaping Contest, again on a 10x10 plot.

To make it work, I need people with gardens they would like to show, landscaping greenhouses, plant shops, arboreatums, etc. to IM me so we can work out a Quest across SL to see what greenery there is to be seen.

I would like to have classes and demonstrations (informative, not picketing) throughout the 2 week period of the contest and voting. So, please IM me if you are interested. Preferrably, the focus should be on greenery and landscaping. Fountains, pools, backyard furniture and fireplaces, plants, etc. are all welcome topics.

This activity will be at Touchstone so beginner, intermediate, and advanced classes/discussions/etc. are welcome as long as they are PG.

If you have plants or items that you might like to donate as prizes or for the bazaar, also, please contact me. (I cringe as I write this... either I will receive no IMs or be deluged!)

The target date for Bazaar set up is Fri. June 24th with the contest starting on the 25th and voting beginning on July 3rd-9th, Ends the 10th. (If all goes well.)

Any other ideas on what could be included in this or other Landscaping events are welcome also.

Lets put some greenery in SL!!! And find some of those hidden nooks and corners where it already exists.

First of all, thank you to those who responded to my earlier post.
RL got in the way so the Quest is postponed for a bit but I hope to get it going next week.

Right now we have someone to do script classes relating to landscaping and a series of waterfall classes, classes on making trees, and some show and tells relating to backyard bbqs and landscaping, we are also starting discussion regarding quick foods to make for summertime.

I hate to be greedy.... but I want more!!! Let's see if we can fill up this two-week period with tons of things. What about classes on how to make barbeques; how to make fun summer prim food? How about a class in making casual summer clothes?

Oh.. and if you have any more places for me to check out for the Greenery Quest.. keep the suggestions coming.
