My Art hasen't changed, everyone else has!!!

It just stopped selling and I'm not sure why. I've been making Art specifically for SL only for 2 years now and I couldn't keep the stuff on the walls long enough to make new pieces, now....now it just rots.

I sell originals only, no copies, no prints. The one on my gallery wall is the only one to exist ever in SL and RL.

All my friends seem to have died off and i never have anyone to talk to anymore. I'm highly selfish, good chance that's part of the problem.

Hi, maybe put up a classified? People can`t really find you if you don`t advertise yourself.

I`m at your shop now, it`s nice yet very expensive; though I understand where you`re coming from I would never pay this type of $L for a photo. Many may feel the same way and resort to screen shotting your photos instead of buying. May I suggest to perhaps "brand" your display photos, since its one of a kind..sell them with an un-branded copy inside so the purchaser can unpact the branded photo to reveal an unbranded photo. This will keep the theifs off.

Maybe there are 20 times more people selling art now, whether it's originals or not.
And a large percentage of the population refuse to input money so , you like most businesses suffer.

No worries. I'll just resort to selling womens clothes like the rest of the hoard...no gambling!

Also, My prices have always been that high, the few dedicated buyers seem to tell me it's always too low, but love is a special bias. I plan to keep them as high as they are inconsideration to my dedication to my selling merits: The art is made specifically for SL, only purchasable in SL, and there's only one to ever exist. There may be better art in SL than mine, but most of it is scanned RL pieces with endless amounts of copies.

Thanks for the Input ladies and gents.

You must remember that when pricing unique items som e people may consider what they will be worth when LL flip the off switch of the servers in the future, SL is 4 years old now, perhaps halfway through it's life span, perhaps a lot further if competion cream it in the next 2 years.
The clothes market is flooded anyways......
It's actually surprising how many newbs are stingy & tight because they think $1L =$1US too.

I sell originals only, no copies, no prints. The one on my gallery wall is the only one to exist ever in SL and RL.
The problem, Disco, is that only producers like that model for virtual assets. Consumers don't.

Virtual assets are naturally copiable and hence replicatable ad infinitum, at effectively zero incremental cost --- that's an inherent property of the digital medium. The addition of copy controls is an artificial restriction imposed on top of that natural replicability, and so people who aren't themselves producers tend not to like it.

They'll put up with it if the price point is low enough to be insignificant (which varies with their income bracket of course), but beyond that point, interest in spending real cash on virtual assets just plummets. This is particularly true for decorative items that stay at home, given that the world is growing massively and residential-only sims are becoming wastelands.

If you want your art to sell, turn it into wearables. Events are all that matter in SL. :P

I create original art, too, but haven't sold anything on SL yet- but I'll checkout yours for sure now...I don't mind the price at all if it's good.

Please don't feel bad I did mouse reproductions of Cezanne's which are really hard to do and I can't even sell them at 50l. Issue isn't that you're popular or not its just hard to know people unless you're major social butterfly. It seems like people are more interested in clothes and furnishings or freebies. I just given up and just create for the fun of it at the moment and went back to camping when I can't buy Lindens.
