Hi all,
Some friends of mine and I are trying to plan and host an event, and while we think we have good ideas, we don't really know what we are doing!
Our idea so far is to have a silent auction where folks bid on items donated by other SL-ers, and the proceeds go to a charitable cause. We'd like to ask people to donate their *favorite* thing in SL, or what they think every person in SL should have, and attach a description to the donation explaining their choice.
Questions we have about logistics of such an event are:
Best ways to solicit donations?
Best places to host such an event, if we don't own land?
How to build a bidding system?
How to coordinate the donation of proceeds to a charity?
Any and all suggestions or comments are appreciated.
