I looked to see if this idea has been suggested and it does not seem like it has.

If you are part of a group, and say the group owmer posts an event. I think that there should be a notice sent to all on-line group member telling them about the event.

I know some of the arguement for this would be that some groups have events every hour and you would be getting messages constantly.

So I suggest the the feature be able to be turned off and on.

It would still work like the notify feature in the events page now, just that anytime a event is posted for the group, you wouldn't need to look for the group event and set it. It would auto notify you for all group events. If you don't want to be notifed, then you can shut it off.

Let me know what you think! And I'll put this in the voting section.

I think it's a great idea, I realize alot of people do not like spamming, however I do like to be reminded of my group events, and I'm sick of looking thru all the 200 tringo blingo blah blah events lol. To set the 1 or 2 events I wish to attend.

So Yes I would like that myself. I find I miss alot of my friends events because of it.

I agree with Fel,
I'd certianly place my vote for it, Not that I don't like to play bingo and Tringo and see XX moobs all the time on events page, but after a while the events list starts to gnaw on my sanity :D

Its a very amazeing idea, and would keep people on track,
This would solve a constant problem me and my friends have of keeping track of time before group events, and sometimes we forget to set it to notify!

Got my vote for this if posted, :D

I would vote for this! In Elf Clan, we have had many discussions on how best to get out the information about events. We have tried using the voting system as an announcement, alienating some members who felt they needed to vote. We attempted to place "announcement" at the beginning of the vote, but it still was disturbing to some. Then we attempted the calling card announcement system, and had many difficulties with that. Announcing an event through a group channel of course is seen as spam by some. This becomes a problem when there are frequent events.

So I an in much favor of a system that allows people to turn off the announcement if they so desire! Hurray! And if I were a Slingo person, maybe I would want to hear about the frequent games.

Maybe.

No...............probably not. : )

I hate that a session auto pops up in IM chat. Better to have it open in a seperate window by clicking on an Attention: Events notice indicator. This way your not constatly closing sessions.

What we need is some sort of sidechaining feed separate from Chat History. It'd work like RSS/ATOM within SL to catch up on your latest personalized news inworld. Not that this is a big deal today, but tomorrow...
