An idea for the musically minded!

Just a little idea i've had over the last month or so, and was curious to if it would interest people or not.

It's one for the music producers out there, i know theres a few! Once a month (or whenever, we'd see how it'd all work out) I'd knock up a sample pack; some synthed sounds, some percussion, vocals, a riff, etc etc.
You guys would then take this pack and basically turn it into a song. Any style would go, just as long as you use something in the pack other times could be just a genre of music is set i.e. Hard trance, and everyone goes off and makes a track!
When everyones all done the entrys are played, everyone has a good listen and dance, and maybe even some judging and prices could be handed out!

So whatcha think? any good? Feel free to lob in some refinements, i'm a lazy thinker! ^_^

This is a great idea Matte. I'll pass this on to Blair Fizz. He's an Australian Music Producer. He DJs at my lounge and in RL he produces Trance Music. He's going to love getting involved in this. Thanks.

There is a web site, acidplanet.com, that has contests for just this sort of thing, largely as a way of promoting their software that can be used to make music. Bringing one here to SL might be fun, though!

I do think this could be a fun idea for SL though; be great to have a night of music soley made by the folks of SL!

What styles does everyone produce in btw? just curious...
I personally specialise in Hard Trance, but do bits and bobs in other genres.
