Combat events and/or Warzones: what's the deal?

I tend to be in-world late at night, so maybe I'm just not around when things are going on...

Anyway, I'm looking for a way to shoot off some of my weapons. I know that there are warzones like Jessie, but people still live in there. I don't want to be the jerk who blasts somebody while they're talking to a friend in front of their house.

Are there places or events where people cut loose a bit? Where I could get blasted by somebody, and then exchange light-hearted IM's like "Wow, man! I wound up in the next sim!"

Also, I see a lot of ads for "the most powerful weapon EVER", but not many for more modest stuff. It would be nice to have a free-for-all where everyone's swords (or even pistols) did, say, 5% damage, with better fencing animations. ( I may post in Products Wanted about that...) Everyone would last long enough to have a really good time, and the last one who isn't killed could get a trophy or something.

I would even be happy to find out if there's a Jetball setup somewhere. That looks like it would be fun.

Anyway, I'd appreciated it if somebody could take me to school on combat events and warzone etiquette. Thanks!

Just 2 sims above Jessie is the combat sandbox, Rausch.

I had noticed that it was a warzone, but I didn't know that it was a sort of sandbox for it. I'll have to zip down there when I'm logged in during regular hours and ask around for specifics. Thanks for the clarification.
