While using FIND-EVENTS-EDUCATION just now, I noticed that the sub-category has apparently become subject to "linguistic redefinition" of a sort (well, that or deliberate miscategorization, but I'll assume that that wasn't the case).

Sad? Interesting? Or just a measure of a lack of Events listing moderation/QC? I don't know but found it rather depressing that the few education events actually being held have to now compete within their own sub-category with the above "events".

The event calendar isn't actively monitored by Linden, and hasn't been for quite some time.
Similar to the forums, where there are just too many posts and not enough staff to dedicate to assess each post. Linden depends on residents to help with moderation.
While its frustrating, I'm glad they're not dedicating a resource to just monitoring the event calendar, instead of working on development for 1.7. It does show, however - the need for some sort of "Report improper event" button on the event listing - so we can alert a Liason easily.
Contact a Liason, and alert them to the incorrect event posts. I'm sure they'll take care of it.

I, for one, could certainly use a remedial course in Strip Tringo.

Are people who post events getting paid for posting these so called eduactional events

In an effort to help allevaite this *ingo saturation problem, I am forming a foundation to help subsidize more diverse events (educational and non-eduactional alike). While I have no control over the event board itself, I think if we all work together here we can change things for the better. Learn more here
