I'm a paying member of Second Life and own a 512 parcel of land. I'd like to host trivia at my place (so that I can add something besides Slingo, Tringo and Bingo to the event mix) and realized that I need to have more than 512 of land in order to host an event.
I upgraded from a $10 membership because I wanted to have land and some of the perks of being a member. And Second Life is restricting the privilege of hosting an event to only higher paying members? Puh-lease. Low blow, guys. Low blow.

Not too many people want to go to an event on a 512m plot of land anyway.

I'm not sure what you mean. You can host an event at Oak Grove or any number of places without owning land.
