There are huge amounts of clubs in sl. Ballrooms where you can take someone to dance in gorgeous romantic settings. Dance to really nice music in casual or formal events where you see the beautiful people all gathered together enjoying themselves.

With this said, there's also a down side to all this. It seems it doesn't matter which club it is they all for the most part have dance balls where when you hop on you're halfway down into the floor. I don't think I've gone to a club where this doesn't happen either to me or someone else at the place. The clubs who have this right are extremely few and in between.

You guys who run events or own clubs really need to pay more attention to this as dance balls play a big part in events. I know it's not easy running a club as I've done it myself so I know. But if you're going to run events or just have a place for dancing then you need to do it right.

Last night I went with a small group to a ballroom and while there were balls to dance with, they were all in the floors. No one wants to have their legs halfway down the floor. So we left the place, went elsewhere and the same thing happened there too.

Not everyone like chimeras as some people including myself don't want to be part of a chorus line with everyone doing the same exact moves all at once. And while there are dance animations where you can dance on your own, many are for solo dancing. Other's might be for couples but most people either don't have them or don't like the way they dance.

Having everything running correct including dance balls is what seperates the big boys from the rest of the pack. While there are many clubs in sl, most are failures and many aren't there anymore for this same reason with more to come.

You can always do what I do.. buy your own balls, get the club owner to allow group members to drop objects... and adjust them for yourself.... I have quite a collection.

You can't blame club owners who probably spent 600L$ for each dance ball set, to have to adjust them for every couple that want to use them.. unless you are prepared to wear a 'standard' shape.

It's much easier said then done.

Many times club owners are not in the clubs. I know I've IM them in many instances and they were off-line. And you're wrong, they should make sure each ball is positioned correctly. It doesn't take that long to go thru' a dozen or so balls before events to make sure. And even when there aren't any events but people still drop in it should be like this. Also, the majority don't allow for you to pull your own dance balls out.

Dance balls are like 'one size fits all' type thing. You hop on make sure you're feet are not inside the ground and quickly hop back off. Now anyone who gets on them will for the most part have their feet on the ground the way it should be and not halfway into the floor.
You don't have to position them for every person that gets on them, once set correctly, it's good for everyone.

Taking care of simple things like this is what seperates the good clubs from the bad ones. Clubs are a dime a dozen in sl. Or shoul d I say, bad clubs are a dime a dozen and not only because of the dance balls either.

I went to an event tonight with my girl which we found on "search" when checking for events. I've never been there before but the music sounded ok so we went in. They were playing techno music which is a fast paced music.
After rezzing we walked in looking for dance balls. We went to where the small crowd was and saw a few females on dance poles and about 3 dancing on chimera. There were 4 sets of dances balls on the floor, but one was a slow dance 3, the other was a tango and two were ballroom dancing balls.

Now, call me crazy but the club is playing techno music but the balls they have are tango and ballroom dancing balls only?

Needless to say we left and don't plan on ever returning. It's true, so many dance clubs but just like this one they're managed badly. How can they be surprise no one goes there when they don't provide adequate and necessary things for their events.
