Hello everyone , i like musicals in RL and really like to bring musicals in SL. COmplete with a Theater in the old days , Boxed seats on the second floor.

People will be dancing and moving accordingly to bring out the life of the musicals we would like to show.(with the music)

In addition . This is a Paid to go event. For all the hard work , salaries paid out and land use .

Of coz we would need sponsors in some things.

ANyone Interested pls send MInky Mousehold an IM to find out more.

I don't understand the guys that vote for the biggest amount of money choice. Damn now when we can vote, why not vote for the lowest amount so we all can afford popcorn during the musical??? hahahah

No, don't bring up popcorn!

(Next thing we know, we'll be pay nothing to get in and $1000L for a large soda / medium snack.)

*ear perks*

Did someone say MUSICAL? :D

Is this the sort of thing where everyone has gestures made of soundclips from The Phantom of the Opera movie... or where the actors are supposed to record their own voice for the gestures? };3

Either way, save a role for me! (Pretty please?) ;]

Sounds very cool! If anyone tries to build another opera house (like the beautiful one that was tragically never finished and no longer exists) or nice theatre like that, I'd love to help out with the building. I'd also be very interested in participating in the productions in some way or another...

Great idea. I'll keep my eye on the 'Special Attractions' forum for an announcement. Good luck!

Great Idea

I wish I could say I had the time to get involved, but I do know some great singer/musicians in SL who might like to.

Might I suggest something, instead of using 10 second .wav files embedded in gestures, that you host .mp3 files on a webserver and use land parcel switching scripts for your audio. It would give you much better sound quality and the capability of unlimited clip length. It also wouldn't be as subject to lag as qued .wav files.

IM me in world if you want more information on the logistics of this.

I assume your comment was in gest, but it does raise an interesting point. Why should people in SL expect others to work hard to provide them entertainment for little or no compensation? Do they expect people in RL to do the same? Why should SL be any different?

With DI going away, we are going to start seeing some interesting developments with pay to attend events. I truly hope that this poll is indicative of the larger population in that they are willing to pay for people's time and talent.

To say that entertainers in SL should depend on tips relagates them busqing in the streets like panhandlers, a dark vision indeed for the future of second life as an entertainment platform.

Hey there : ) Thought I would give a heads up then for a new opera house. On the sim south of Sanctum I am building an opera house based on the one from the Phantom of the Opera movie. Actually the entire sim is Phantom themed. I've started with the underground canal system and the Phantom's organ..I am blocking out areas of the sim for his lair, a small old paris shopping district, the cemetary and the opera house on the hill overlooking both sims. It's a long term project however because I'm doing the textures from scratch but I wanted to put that out there. It probably won't be done soon enough to be of use to anyone now.

It's on Intemptesta Nox btw, which means dead of night.

...i toyed with a similar idea back when i was event manager for cosy island, save using a radio production for a shakespearean play, rather than a musical...one noteable element in my concept was to have the actors keep a ready queue of their lines to cut-paste in synchronicity with their performances, which alongside custom animations and the like could make for a really engaging production with chat bubbles enabled...

...the biggest problem i encountered in my plans was allowing for stream lag - that is, everyone would be hearing the audio slightly out-of-synch with each other, which could make for some awkward elements of synchronicity...chat bubbles were my own best solution, but i'd love to see how you might approach things in a musical, where timing is a bit more forgiving than standard dramatic play-by-play action...
