im new to sl and it took me a week or so to get it (initially didnt) but then i stumbled across a live show and then i was hooked i then started looking for live shows, radio etc but at every turn im getting drowned in gaming, yard sales and porn (not that i care but its distracting) eg. if i want to know whats on in my towns live music venues i dont expect to have most of the magazine not telling me is it hard to have somewhere, sl or web or blog that *just* lists live stuff and/or music only if its there already then can someone point me  (ive said this elsewhere but i dont understand why radio & tv stations dont take space and stream) |

Hiyas mrlk! You asked me a similar question after the show I did but I was a bit too tired to answer properly. Sooo.... you want to use the 'Events Lisitng' page of the SL website and then use the drop-down menu to filter for Live Music. That should get you off to a flying start. Most live music venues have their own groups which are worth joining if you want to be informed about upcoming performances. Another thing to look into is the BlogHUD. From what I gather many live music events are also listed on that service.

Join the group "live music enthusiasts" (free to join) to receive notices of live events. Some artists also have their own groups that will send out notices of their performances.

thx all - ok now wheres the rss feed for it  ive suggested to sanctuary that they should have their dj listings and at least bloghud - then i can rss (cant filter out the live or music side though) |

Some folks might find this useful. Eventfull.com Here's the RSS feed for Second Life Events In my Opera feed reader I have to click on the article link to get to the slurl where the event is being held.

Other than the options listed above (definitely do a live music and also a nightlife search whenever you're in the mood) (also, definitely join Live Music Enthusiasts group)
but there are other groups to join as well... join the groups of the venues that have performances and events you like (usually 'club such-n-such VIP'). join the performers group (usually some form of 'fans of so-n-so').
Also do a group search for:
Music
Live
Perform
Stream
DJs
DJ
(and also search for various styles of music you like)
Join the groups that show up and seem interesting... usually groups with more than 20 members are fairly active.
